RISE UP AND CREATE!

We invite you to design a twelve-inch album cover inspired by the theme:

“Anthems of Hope and Resistance: SING LOUD and SING PROUD.”

As we move into 2025, many of us are struggling to find ways to “stand tall” amidst the external chaos.

In response, WPKN is calling on its community of artists to RISE UP AND CREATE!

We invite you to design a twelve-inch album cover – real or imagined – in any medium,

inspired by the theme: “Anthems of Hope and Resistance: SING LOUD and SING PROUD.”

This benefit exhibition is like an art show and record fair combined.

To participate, sign up by Sunday, January 7. Completed works must be delivered during the weekend of January 11–12.

Join us for the grand opening on Friday, January 17, as we unveil this inspiring exhibition, which will run through mid-February.

All proceeds support WPKN, sustaining the independent music and voices you love.

GOV’T MULE

New Year’s Eve Run 2024

Saturday December 28th – College Street Music Hall, New Haven CT

Doors  7pm – Show 8pm

When Gov’t Mule’s GRAMMY-nominated Heavy Load Blues was released in late 2021, few who heard the album could have sensed that it was merely one part of a two-album project from guitarist/vocalist Warren Haynes and his band mates, drummer Matt Abts &  keyboardist Danny Louis. While Heavy Load Blues was designed as a live-in-the-studio project exploring the blues idiom, in the midst of that creative rush, Haynes found himself with a bumper crop of new material that ventured outside of the blues genre. The result is Mule’s 12th studio album, the sparkling Peace…Like a River (Fantasy), out now. This event is Fully Reserved Seated on the Floor with General Admission Standing Room Only in the Back, and Reserved Seated in the Balcony.
