1) Amanda Marcotte, a senior politics writer at Salon and the author of “Troll Nation: How The Right Became Trump-Worshipping Monsters Set On Rat-F*cking Liberals, America, and Truth Itself.” She’ll talk about her recent article, “Why Republicans suddenly seem to be taking COVID seriously,” and the culpability of news media outlets and politicians who spread deadly disinformation about coronavirus vaccinations.

2) Ryan Devereaux, an award-winning investigative journalist covering criminal justice, immigration enforcement, and national security, discusses his recent Intercept article, “At Least Seven Colombians in Haiti Assassination Received U.S. Training.”

3) Steven Rosenfeld, editor, chief correspondent & senior writing fellow for Voting Booth, a project of the Independent Media Institute. He’ll talk about his recent article, “Samuel Alito’s Assault on the Voting Rights Act Is Plunging the Supreme Court Back to the Segregation Era,” and the future of voting rights under today’s majority extreme right-wing Supreme Court.

4) Lorraine Birabil, Executive Director of the Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute and Devin Branch, Harris County Right2Justice Lead Organizer with the Texas Organizing Project talk about their group’s involvement in the movement to stop the passage of a new Texas voter suppression law, and organizing for a 27-mile march from Georgetown to Austin that will be launched on July 27th.
