Thursday Morning Quarterbacks is an unconventional sports radio show about football and other stuff. Two WPKN Radio show hosts, Steelers fanatic Doc Hardy and Patriots lover Cheryl Magoveny, match wits, trade barbs, talk trash, make weekly picks of NFL games and talk about related off the field NFL issues. It is on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month starting at 11 pm for 30 minutes.
I have been on the air at WPKN since September 2018. I currently serve on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer, and I volunteer for special committees when needed. I am inspired by WPKN in many ways. Most of all, in the way WPKN allows its programmers the freedom to explore and take full control of their show’s content. I am greatly impressed by the immense love all the programmers, volunteers, and staff have for the station. Because of this, our listeners can expect to hear the widest range of programming on radio today.
Doc Hardy has music and radio broadcasting in his blood. His father, Hal Hardy, was “DJ Soul on Ice” in the 1970’s, and was a pioneer in Connecticut for black radio personalities. He appeared on WNLK in Norwalk, WSTC in Stamford, WICC in Bridgeport, WINE in Danbury and WEBE in Westport.
