WPKN Underwriting

  • Support a leading and distinguished 60-plus-year independent, freeform, community institution.
  • Reach an engaged, arts-minded, hip audience.
  • Your investment is tax-deductible.

WPKN is a community organization that amplifies tri-state area nonprofit organizations, businesses, events, artists, musicians,  organizers, and more. Think: music venues, events, art galleries, trade organizations, restaurants, theater, education, breweries, coffee shops etc.  A large part of that vibrant, community-oriented amplification comes through our underwriting program. Businesses, organizations, and individuals support the station monetarily in exchange for underwriting spots aired on WPKN announcement blocks, weekly email newsletters, and web/social media channels. In addition, WPKN also partners on events through media partnership and ‘WPKN Presents’ productions.

WPKN’s FM signal broadcasts in Connecticut (Fairfield, New Haven, and New London counties), the eastern portion of Long Island (Suffolk County), southeastern New York State, southwestern Massachusetts, and southwestern Rhode Island with a potential audience of 1.5 million. The online stream at wpkn.org, and various radio phone apps (Apple, Android), allow an infinite number of global listeners.

WPKN 89.5 FM represents an engaged, arts-minded, hip audience that attends cultural events. Since 1963, WPKN has delivered regional and global, non-commercial, freeform, listener-supported radio broadcasting ideas and sounds more human-oriented and vibrant than the limitations and current calcification of commercial radio.

In 2021, David Owen of The New Yorker decreed that WPKN is, “the greatest radio station in the world.”

WPKN offers competitive underwriting plans. WPKN customizes your underwriting schedule to reach ideal audiences and peak listenership.  Support WPKN and align your message with a renown freeform, independent, community radio station. WPKN is a non-profit organization, your support is tax deductible.
