1) Matt Gardner, Senior Fellow at the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, discusses recent news stories re: IRS tax information revealing that billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Warren Buffett pay little in income tax compared to their massive wealth.
2) Constitutional attorney John Bonifaz, Co-Founder and President of Free Speech For People, provides analysis on news reports revealing that the Trump Department of Justice seized phone records of journalists and at least two Democratic members of the House Intelligence Committee. He’ll talk about the issues of accountability and justice for Trump administration lawbreakers.
3) Francesca Emanuele, a Peruvian sociologist, research assistant at American University in Washington, D.C. and a regular columnist for the progressive Peruvian publication, Wayka. She’ll discuss the presidential election in Peru won by Pedro Castillo amid, accusations of “fraud,” by his hard right opponent Keiko Fujimori, daughter of the jailed 1990s president Alberto Fujimori. She’ll also assess the prospect of a wave of electoral victories for the left across Latin America.
4) Paul Kirchberg, Executive Director of Connecticut NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) examines pending legislation that would legalize recreational marijuana for Connecticut adults, that will be voted on in a “special session” in the state legislature June 16th.
