Counterpoint with Scott Harris

This week’s guests on Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris:

Loretta J. Ross, activist and Visiting Associate Professor of the Study of Women & Gender at Smith College, discusses her recent article, “The Nazification of the Republican Party,” and the nation’s response to the January 6th white supremacist insurrection that targeted the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

David Swanson, an author, activist, journalist, and radio host, is executive director of WorldBeyondWar.org and campaign coordinator with RootsAction.org. Swanson, whose books include “War Is A Lie” and “20 Dictators Currently Supported by the U.S.,” will examine the U.S. airstrikes President Biden ordered targeting “Iranian-backed” militia groups in Syria on Feb. 25th, the Congressional role in authorizing U.S. military action — and his assessment of Biden administration policy toward the Middle East.

Steve Rendall, a contributing writer with the group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), discusses his recent article, “Limbaugh Helped Create the Conservative Movement—and Paved the Road for Trump,” as well as issues related to today’s right-wing media outlets, extremist propaganda and disinformation.

James Rawlings, Connecticut NAACP Health Policy Chair discusses the criticism that’s been leveled at CT Governor Lamont’s new COVID vaccine distribution plan that’s now strictly based on age, ignoring both residents’ underlying medical conditions and populations disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus.

Monday, March 1 at 8:00 PM and in the WPKN archive.
