Tidings from Hazel Kahan
This month on Tidings from Hazel Kahan, two members of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs — Staff Chaplain Chris Antal and Staff Psychologist Dr. Peter Yeomans — speak to us from Philadelphia, Pa. about their work on the pain of moral injury experienced by veterans returning from military deployment. From a foundation of academic research, Antal and Yeomans explain the distinction between moral injury and PTSD and how the community, including family, is integrated into sharing the burden of moral injury through a three-month program of group sessions leading to a moral injury community healing ceremony and community feedback.
