Democracy Now with Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez
Daily — New broadcast time beginning Monday, March 28 is 7:00 PM.
Counterpoint with Scott Harris
1) Mel Goodman, a senior fellow at the Center for International Policy, and a former CIA intelligence analyst from 1966 to 1990, discusses his recent article, “Cold War 2.0: Much Worse Than the Original Cold War,” as well as his views on how civil society can work to reduce the danger of a costly new cold war between the U.S. and Russia.
2) Marjorie Cohn, Professor emerita at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and past president of the National Lawyers Guild talks about the recent confirmation hearings of President Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson — and calls for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to recuse himself from any cases relating to the 2020 election and its aftermath, now that it has been revealed that his wife, Virginia (Ginni) Thomas, colluded extensively with former Pres. Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows about overturning Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.
3) Kathy Kelly, life-long nonviolence activist, co-founder of Voices for Creative Nonviolence and co-coordinator of the Ban Killer Drones Campaign, discusses her recent article, “The Impact of Ukraine on Yemen,” and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
4) Pete Harrison, director of the group Desegregate Connecticut, discusses his group’s campaign to pass House Bill 5429, An Act Concerning Transit-Oriented Development, that advocates believe will “create transit-oriented communities with 10% affordable homes (that) will benefit the economy, protect the environment, and improve equity and access to housing.”
