WPKN EARTH SPEAKS and it’s time for the world to listen!

WPKN EARTH SPEAKS is a collection of environmental programs from WPKN’s environmental journalists and writers. The programs reflect our commitment to the wellbeing of planet Earth and the diverse species with whom we share this habitat. Through interviews with local, national and international experts — scientists, theorists and practitioners — we search for the latest in theories, techniques and best practices from those working on the leading edge to protect, stabilize and regenerate the earth’s ecosystems, some of them in the lands and waters of other continents, some of them right here in our Connecticut and Long Island backyards.

Our changing climate is generating a torrent of environmental news that is good and bad with as many possible solutions and paths to action. WPKN finds itself at the center of this environmental activity: we recognize we’ve become a hub for the exchange of expert opinion from authors, scientists, farmers, gardeners and all kinds of other practitioners and activists, including ourselves as we absorb and learn to pass on to our neighbors and colleagues what the experts have taught us. Although we hadn’t planned it this way, we are proud that through a mysterious organic process we have become a hub where EARTH SPEAKS.
