The Radio- A Wireless Shortcut (2 Discs) $75.00

“The Radio” (1975) This mix was done originally for a media course that Pete Fornatelle was giving at NYU in the early seventies. Steve Leeds (the original Under-Assistant East Coast Promotion Man) asked for a five-minute radio-centric group of songs, and brought me many of the records used—it was then extended to the 19 minute blend you have here. “57 Channels” (And Nothing On) 1992-Bruce Springsteen This remix of the second single from Bruce Springsteen's Human Touch album done by "Little" Steven Van Zandt, a member of Springsteen's backup group, The E Street Band and Peter Bochan. The remixes are dominated by sound clips from television, circa 1992, especially references to the Los Angeles riot and Vice President Dan Quayle's controversial remarks about the Murphy Brown TV show. There were 3 different tracks released, this version comes from the unreleased files. A decade later this collaboration led to “The Boss” calling me up to do a Bush “Weapons of Mass Destruction” mix that we (and me and Bruce (wrapped in only a towel!) and a guy with a laptop) modified in his dressing room under Shea Stadium. That was then blended live with the E-Street Band before 50,000 screaming fans to open the show! “Stop Singing and Start Swingin’” (2002) Malcolm X meets James Brown, Al Green, Otis Redding and many more in a political dance-a-thon! This is the American Nightmare Mix. “Stand By Please!” (1999) The early days of broadcasting mixed with phone calls, listener surveys, filmclips, and much more. Featuring John Wayne, Lee DeForest, Fred Allen, Harry Truman, Samori Marksman, Lou Hill and the history of Pacifica Radio. Are you listening to radio just now? (All Mixed Up -2000) “? (Modern Industry)- Fishbone The most radio station ids in any one track anywhere-- These are the voices of modern industry! “Getting In Tune” (2010) Recent All Mixed Up segment featuring Newton Minow, Ralph Nader, The Who, Tosca, The Low Anthem, Norah Jones, Leon Russell and many more. “Mother Nature Mixdown (2009) Rachel Carson, Albert Einstein, Gandhi, Ray Bradbury, Barack Obama, Tosca, Peter Gabriel, and Newton Minow Disc Two---"A Wireless Shortcut"-Produced by Peter Bochan
