When we take public transportation, the vehicles, the platforms, the shelters – they’re all plastered with advertising. But it remains almost impossible for most people to get to work using public transportation.
And when we listen to public radio, the informational ads of underwriters are omnipresent. But it continues to be almost impossible to find interesting new music.
WPKN is a refuge. Radio produced in real time by real people – community volunteers.
